As you may have heard, this morning, the mayor announced that all NYC public school buildings would be closed through the end of the year. This means we will continue the remote learning platform through June 26th. We know this is incredibly sad news, and we are heartbroken for our students, families and the school community as a whole. We all miss seeing your kids on a daily basis and doing this work we love together at CHAH. As hard as this is, it is the only decision that makes sense if we want to stop the spread of the virus and keep families safe! In short, the decision is meant to save lives and therefore, we must all stand behind it.

With that said, we are committed to your child's education and will work tirelessly to ensure that we make the most of this remote learning period. We will continue to plan engaging lessons, provide necessary academic support, give meaningful feedback on assignments, plan enrichment activities, and tend to your child's social emotional well-being. We will keep you posted with relevant updates and information as it becomes available. We are planning a parent meeting for the week of 20th to discuss grading. Details will follow next week.

Daily Remote Learning Schedule for CHAH Students

Student Daily Schedule starting Monday, March 23rd

Step 1: Wake up! (we're virtual so you decide when, but try to be consistent each day)
Step 2: Check Morning Announcements from Mr. Falciani in your @mychah.org e-mail account
Step 3: Complete Daily Attendance Form (important! or you will be marked absent!) [click here]
Step 4: Go into your Google Classroom and go into each Class to complete assignments

  • Information for all students and families about Remote (Virtual) Learning starting March 23, 2020 - Important - Please Review! (english / spanish)

  • Students: have questions about Google Classroom? Use this online discussion board to ask questions and share ideas. Go now! [You will need to log in with your @mychah.org e-mail account. Posts are moderated and private.]

  • If you need WiFi access, you can try requesting an internet connected device from the DOE by completing this form. CHAH is only able to provide devices and not internet connections.

  • If you are in an Optimum serviced area, anyone can join the network optimumwifi-Emergency

  • If you need internet installed at home, you can try calling SPECTRUM: 1-844-488-8395 or OPTIMUM: 1- 866-200-9522

Dear CHAH Community,

The Mayor has announced school will be closed up until Spring Break. The back to school date is now Monday, 4/20/2020 unless more information is posted.

  • Students and families will be provided directions about Distance / Virtual Learning. We will post that information here when we have it. The Mayor has said students who need devices and WiFi access will be provided with access. More information coming soon.

  • Breakfast and lunch will be available as To Go boxes from the front of the school building (students will not come inside) until 4/8/2020.

  • E-mail info@mychah.org if you have any questions. At this time, we may not have a lot of answers but as we learn more, we will post information and guidance for you here on our website.

El alcalde ha anunciado que la escuela estará cerrada hasta las vacaciones de primavera. La fecha de regreso a clases es ahora lunes, 20/04/2020 a menos que se publique más información.

-Los estudiantes y las familias recibirán instrucciones sobre el aprendizaje a distancia / virtual. Publicaremos esa información aquí cuando la tengamos. El alcalde ha dicho que los estudiantes que necesitan dispositivos y acceso WiFi recibirán acceso. Más información próximamente.

-El desayuno y el almuerzo estarán disponibles como cajas para llevar desde el frente del edificio de la escuela (los estudiantes no entrarán).
