The Boys Basketball team made their annual trip to Fordham for their prestigious, invite-only camp. Starting June 3rd all the way through June 7th, the team played some of the top teams from the Tri-State area. In addition to games, the team listened to lectures from Division 1, 2 and 3 coaches from across the country.

Last week, several CHAH students in the Junior Achievement program visited the offices of the tech firm Digitas NY in downtown NYC. Digitas NY makes connections between brands and people using a five-pronged approach: data, technology, media, creativity, and strategy.
CHAH students were greeted with breakfast and listened to a presentation about the role Digitas NY plays as a global advertising and marketing firm. Students asked questions about how to get into marketing and advertising, got some help with their resumes, and learned about the importance of online marketing and how data is used to make strategic decisions.
This past week, CHAH students worked with financial lawyers from Citi Bank through a program called Junior Achievement. The finance folks taught the kids about proper budgeting, the differences between good and bad debt, and how to create and manage savings and checking accounts. Important life skills for the 21st Century!
Students also worked in groups to create public service announcements on financial topics. Some creative PSAs were shared!
This past Friday was Open Mic Night at CHAH! Students and teachers performed music, poetry, and storytelling.
The guest performers were Jade Zabric and Rapper Adrian from the Bronx. Jade reached out after the show to say how impressed she was with our students! Her music is on Spotify and Bandcamp, if you are interested.
