Senior AP Art Students Embark on a Cultural Odyssey Through NYC's Art Scene

Embarking on an immersive journey through New York City's cultural landscape, our senior AP Art students have the unique opportunity to delve into iconic institutions, from the mesmerizing "Starry Night" at MoMa to the dynamic showcase of "Dominican Yorks" at the Hispanic Society, and the evocative Harlem Renaissance exhibition at the MET. Their status as seniors in the AP Art program has afforded them an enriched perspective, allowing them to dissect the diverse narratives and historical significance behind each artwork they encounter. With eager anticipation, they look forward to upcoming trips to the Cloisters and the Whitney. Beyond mere sightseeing, these trips serve as pivotal moments in their artistic journey, fostering a profound connection to the arts and instilling in them a lifelong commitment to becoming patrons of creativity. As they navigate galleries and absorb the spectrum of artistic expression, they emerge not only as students but as ambassadors of cultural enrichment, poised to shape the artistic landscape for years to come.

The Community Health Academy mission is to focus on each student's overall health.

As a result, we will be hosting our first Skin Care Beauty Fair for all members of the School community on Valentine's Day, Wednesday February 14, 2024.

Girl's Basketball Team Defeats Division Rival WHEELS!

The CHAH Girl’s Basketball Team defeated division rival WHEELS this week, in a spirited, back-and-fourth juggernaut of a game! Great job, girls! Keep up the good work!

Boys Basketball Team plays in "Scholars through Sports" Tournament

The boys basketball team spent Martin Luther King Jr weekend playing in the Scholars through Sports Foundation MLK Jr event at LaGuardia High School. CHAH defeated traditional city power Frederick Douglass Academy 57-53. Leuri Sosa was named game MVP.

The event organizer went off his way to commend our boys on how they handled themselves on and off the court. The Boys Basketball Team also had 100% attendance in school on Tuesday, January 16 following the snow storm. This highlights the motivation that participation in sports offers students, both here at CHAH and across the country.

Congrats on the win and making the school proud!
