CHAH celebrates senior artists at the Tweed CourtHouse

Congratulations to the CHAH seniors whose art is on display at the TWEED Courthouse at Wall St for the NYC My Story DiverCITY exhibition, along with all the other NYC students. So proud of you that your art will be on display for 6 months and work published in a book. May you forever continue to take photos and capture moments. 🖼️📸📷 Art brings people together and creates community. Being a part of The Divercity Lens Program fosters this for the teachers and their students. Creating Art allows us to not only be creative, and use critical thinking and problem solving skills it also helps us learn about ourselves, others and the world. Opportunities like this allows our students to create an artistic identity through exploration, experimentation and creation.

ALS Walk 2024

On Friday 5/24, CHAH held its annual ALS walk where students and teachers walked a total of four miles spreading knowledge and collecting donations for ALS research. We were able to raise a total of $10,004 a huge accomplishment for us and a major contribution to “strike out ALS”. We were also visited by Assemblyman Al Taylor who also presented our school with a check for $100,000 from the state. Thank you to all of our amazing students and staff for their efforts not only for the ALS walk but also for their contributions to being recognized by the state and the tremendous effort that paid off.

CHAH Middle School Career Fair

Picture this: a gym buzzing with excitement, professionals, hopeful students, and endless possibilities. That's right, we're talking about CHAH’s middle school career fair – where dreams meet reality. Today our middle school grades 6th-8th had the amazing opportunity to partake in our first ever CHAH career fair, organized by Ms. Beckles the middle school guidance counselor.

Students were able to talk to over 30 professionals, careers ranging from lawyers, bakers, police, doctors, and more. Check out our video coverage of this amazing event, and look forward to next year’s career fair.

Golf Team Dinner at 5 Iron Golf NYC

The CHAH Golf Team had a wonderful time at 5 Iron Golf NYC this past week. The student-athletes hit balls into a simulator and watched the video game cars explode on the screen.

"It's kinda like Candy Crush, but for golf and with cars instead of candy," Samira said. "The food is good, too!"

Thanks very much to the folks at 5 Iron Golf for hosting what we hope will become a yearly ... "tradition unlike any other."
