This summer, CHAH’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics program called Career Clue was publicly endorsed by NYC School Chancellor Richard Carranza and Deputy Mayor Phil Thompson at a press conference. The program is designed to get students prepared for careers in STEM fields and provide them with the background and skills necessary for jobs in the 21st Century economy.

Mr. Carranza and Mr. Thompson spoke with students and gave speeches. A CHAH student in the program, Donarly Fernandez, also delivered a moving speech to a room full of students, reporters, and high-level government officials.

Career Clue is part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Career Ready NYC initiative, a move toward career-based technological education. The program is run in partnership with the sustainability nonprofit Solar One, CareerReady Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provider Community League of the Heights, and community-based organization United Community Schools. CHAH is incredibly proud to be a part of this program!
