Basketball is Back!

The boys basketball team is having a great Spring! Since April 7th, the boys have adjusted and practiced and played games outside!

So far, the boys are undefeated (5-0) in non leagues/scrimmages.

The PSAL season started last week with a loss to Manhattan A powerhouse Seward Park.

Starting this week, the PSAL schedule gets cranked up and the boys look to continue their success and hard work!

WWII Internment Camp Survivor Speaks to Social Studies Class

Japanese Incarceration survivor Takeshi Furumoto came to Mr. King's 8th Social Studies class to tell his story of being forced to live in prison-like conditions during World War II because of his Japanese heritage.

The students were so impressed by Tak's patriotism and positivity in response to such a difficult experience.

Tak is one of the few remaining survivors of this tragic event in American history. Mr. King's class spent weeks learning about the US government's decision to incarcerate the people of Japanese descent and had so many excellent questions for him!

Tak volunteered for the Vietnam War and served with distinction earning a Bronze Star! Tak is a true American hero!

Congressional Staffer Tells Students about the Riots of Jan. 6

Thanks to Patrick Satalin, the Chief of Staff from the office of Congressman Welch (D-VT) for stopping by Mr. King's 8th Grade Social Studies class.

Pat told the students about his experiences being in the Capitol building for the riots on January 6th.

CHAH students asked thoughtful questions are were appreciative of Pat's honest answers.
