CHAH acknowledges that our school is part of a larger system that perpetuates racial inequities. Our Committee on Racial Equity (CoRE) is a team of teachers, administrators, and students whose mission is to identify and alter school policies that perpetuate those racial inequities. CoRE analyzes subsets of student populations to identify disparities. By helping develop culturally responsive curriculum, teaching practices, and supportive relationships with students, CoRE strives to instill antiracist values in our students and our school culture in general. We work with our entire school community to respond to student needs in an effort to continually improve as we work towards racial equity. The first step toward fixing a problem is admitting that there is one. By acknowledging that racial inequities exist, CoRE envisions CHAH students and staff that are able to identify racist policies and work towards a world of racial equity.
