2021-22 Season Summary

The CHAH Girls Volleyball Team had a fun return after losing our last season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Special congratulations to our only returning player and senior captain of the team, Angelia Ozuna. She led the team with consistent serving and assists. She was joined by our other senior co-captain, Daisy Loyola, who showed great dedication and quick learning throughout the season. In addition, we welcomed many new underclassmen to the team: Gianny Alfonso, Kailey Batista, Amaris Bido, Jireh Garcia, Chloe Grullon, Daleidy Elsi, Katelyn Lopez, Jada Moreno, Nia Smith, and Dleisha Ventura. We look forward to seeing these girls develop their skills as individuals and a cohesive team in upcoming seasons.

2018-19 Season Summary

The volleyball team had an exciting year. As it was Ms. Jacobson and Ms. Calev's first year coaching, everyone was welcoming and open to learn many new drills. They all developed a deeper understanding and love for the sport. Players particularly improved on their transitioning and more complex plays. Great job, Volleyball Team!

2017-18 Season Summary

CHAH Pheonix Volleyball wrapped up another exciting season with 5 wins and 5 losses. They secured their third place league standing after a final exciting match against FDA. Their season started without a gym- but that didn't dampen their spirits or keep them from practicing. CHAH girls would travel to the park to practice- or even practice in the hallways- while they waited for gym repairs.

CHAH Volleyball was excited to be invited to the 2nd General’s Cup GLHS Volleyball Invitational “Fight like a girl” Games for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The team welcomed freshman Jerelin Wessin and Pamela Munoz. Other newcomers include Nancy Fernandez, Alexa Leyba, Yeimy Tejada, Blanca Merlin, Melanie Vargas and Soraya Zarate. Coach Clark and Coach Pena are excited to for all of the new and promising talent coming to the team.

The volleyball seniors finished their high school careers strong. Lady Phoenix sends its best wishes to Marialy Fernandez (Setter), Taina Jimenez (Hitter), Yeimy Tejada (Passer), Yocasta Fanas (Setter, Hitter) and Alexa Leyba (Hitter). Coach Clark and Coach Pena agree that it has been a privilege to coach this group of exceptional athletes. The team will certainly miss them next year. Keep playing, ladies!
